The DPRK embassy in Beijing hosted a reception on February 13 on the occasion of the lunar New Year's Day in 2026.

Present there at invitation were Peng Qinghua, vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, and officials of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Public Security, the State Office for International Development and Cooperation and the People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and other officials concerned.

Kim Tong Bom, charge d'affaires ad interim of the DPRK embassy, and staff members of the embassy were on hand.

Speeches were made there.

The participants toasted the health of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the esteemed Comrade Xi Jinping and the steady development of the DPRK-China friendly and cooperative relations.
