People's art festival closes
February 20, 2026The Third People's Art Festival in Celebration of February 16 came to an end. The festival performances were given at theatres and halls in Pyongyang and other parts of the country to mark the 84th birth anniversary of Chairman
Its closing ceremony took place at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on February 18.
Present there were So Kyong Nam, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, the festival participants and working people in Pyongyang.
The jury announced the results of the festival.
The ensemble prize was conferred on nine successful art works, the creation prize on three persons, the acting prize on 11 persons, and the group prize on 30 units.
Diplomas and cups were awarded with prizes.
A letter of loyalty to the respected
Pak Kyong Chol, vice-minister of Culture and vice-chairman of the festival organizing committee, made a closing address.
Then there was a closing performance.
