Georgian FM decries US’ scheme for government overthrow
February 25, 2026The Georgian foreign minister on February 17 denounced the US for scheming to overthrow its government.
Disclosing that the US AID, among others, is financing anti-government organizations in Georgia seeking to disturb the stability of the country, he said that underlying their backing is the sinister intention to overthrow the government of a sovereign state under the signboard of “revolution”.
To this end, the US is applying double standards to other countries, he said, adding that the Georgian government will never tolerate such acts but continue to struggle against them in the future, too.
