First Politburo meeting of Ninth Central Committee of WPK held
February 26, 2026The first meeting of the Political Bureau of the Ninth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was held at the headquarters building of the Party Central Committee on February 25.
Present there were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee.
Attending it as observers were officials of the Organizational Leadership Department and the Information and Publicity Department of the Party Central Committee.
The meeting first deliberated on the opinions raised at sectional study and consultative meetings for drafting the decisions of the Ninth Party Congress.

The Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee studied the opinions, confirmed the draft decisions through an important process of deliberation and decided to submit the relevant documents to the Party Congress.
The Political Bureau also examined and approved the draft five-year plan for 20 major sectors of the national economy.
The Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee deliberated on the draft decisions reflecting the work plan for 2026, the first year of implementing the decisions of the Party Congress, and supplemented the drafts with the synthesized opinions before adopting them as the decisions of the First Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Party Central Committee.
The Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee decided to complete the important documents by deliberating on the draft collection of the slogans set forth by the Party Central Committee and the draft guide to the Party Rules and supplementing them with the raised opinions before conveying them throughout the Party.
