The Belarus defence ministry on February 19 clarified to the military attachés of the embassies of 20-odd countries in its country the stand to condemn the West’s deployment of armed forces in the vicinity of the country’s territory.

The neighbouring countries have recently sent a signal of hostile act, instead of dialogue, the ministry said, stressing that the deployment of foreign forces near the territory of the country is intolerable.

It asserted that a series of military drills going on in its country assume a defensive character for deterring aggression.
