There took place a short course for the participants in the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK, on February 27.

Lecturers were Kim Jae Ryong, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Ju Chang Il, secretary of the WPK Central Committee.

The short course dealt with the methodological and practical issues arising in making sure that the participants in the Ninth Party Congress, including the newly elected members of the Party central leadership, deeply grasp the idea and spirit of the Congress and fulfil their core and vanguard role in implementing the decisions of the Congress.

The lecturers called on all the participants in the Congress to make determined efforts in the vanguard of the struggle for great pioneering and transformation for national prosperity and work hard to pave a new avenue to comprehensive prosperity of socialism indicated by the Congress in order to surely guarantee the successful implementation of the tasks of the gigantic struggle.

They noted that the participants in the Congress should become the hardcore and backbone in upholding the ideology and leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, regarding it as their primary mission and sacred duty to more thoroughly establish the Party Central Committee's unified leadership system.

They said they should make the masses' inexhaustible spiritual strength and ever-soaring loyalty and patriotic enthusiasm result in the implementation of the Party decisions by giving definite priority to the political work and should bring about a radical upswing in the work of the sectors and units under their charge, while firmly maintaining the position and attitude of giving priority to the interests of the Party and the state.

The short course urged the participants to make significant progress and leaps forward by drawing up plans for each stage and annual plans for implementing the decisions of the Party Congress to ensure their development-oriented nature and scientific accuracy on the basis of the correct calculation of the specific situation and conditions of the sectors and units under their charge and by giving full play to the working spirit and traits of self-reliance and self-sustenance.

The lecturers appealed to the participants to bring substantial successes and actual changes awaited and welcomed by the people by making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people in the whole course of the struggle for implementing the decisions of the Party Congress, true to Kim Jong Un’s intention to make devoted service for the people's wellbeing.

They noted that all provinces, cities and counties should more meticulously organize their work to make sure that the model establishments for regional development provided by the Party with great efforts would tangibly contribute to the material and cultural life of the people and boldly plan and resolutely push ahead with the undertakings to develop the economy to suit the regional features and promote the wellbeing of the people.

The short course stressed the importance of the issue for the officials to give top priority to the work of improving the people's living standards, regarding the Party's outlook on the people as a core principle.

Through the short course, the participants deeply cherished the noble intention of the Party Central Committee to hasten the prosperity and development of the great DPRK and bring more substantial benefits to the people as early as possible, invariably holding aloft the idea of "The people are god", single-minded unity and self-reliance as the banner of struggle and advance.

All the participants were filled with great enthusiasm to fully discharge their responsibility and display experienced leadership ability and high executive faculty in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the Party Congress by single-mindedly and faithfully upholding the ideology and leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
