A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry rejected the groundless criticism by the US at a press conference on February 25.

An official of the US State Department recently said that China conducted a nuclear explosion test and that the US would resume nuclear tests on the “principle of reciprocity”.

In connection with this, the spokesperson said that the US has not hesitated to shift the blame for its crime onto another country and tarnish the latter in order to shirk the duty of international arms control and stressed that the US should stop seeking an excuse for the resumption of nuclear tests.

On the same day, the Chinese representative censured Japan for finding fault with China’s human rights situation at a session of the UN Human Rights Council.

Though Japan talked about the human rights situation of another country, it can never cover up its dirty human rights records, he said, condemning the Japanese authorities for denying its historical responsibility for the “comfort women” issue and so on.

China demands Japan immediately examine itself, he said.
