March 4, 2026

Russia is bitterly denouncing and rejecting the West’s adventurist moves to provide Ukraine with nuclear weapons.

At a UN Security Council meeting on February 24, the Russian permanent representative to the United Nations disclosed that Britain and France are trying to provide Ukraine with nuclear weapons and stated that Russia has all the possibilities to mount a counterattack in case they make a decision for the provision.

He demanded the West reexamine its reckless line of escalating the conflict with Russia and stop thinking of continuing the war until the Ukrainians go extinct.

Meanwhile, the speaker of the State Duma, the president’s press secretary, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia branded the attempts of Britain and France to offer nuclear weapons as a crime and violation of international law.

Saying that the act of helping Ukraine possess nuclear weapons will face a strong counterattack of the Russian side, they stressed that it is the steadfast and absolute stand of Russia that the attempts of Britain and France can never be tolerated and Ukraine’s possession of nukes cannot be allowed.
