Women of virtue

March 8, 2026

Women's inexhaustible beauty can be said to be devotion.

When their devotion is expressed to the country beyond the bounds of their homes, their life will shine more brilliantly along with the country.

In the past five years alone, a large number of women in the DPRK devoted their efforts unsparingly for the prosperity of the country.

Such admirable women were awarded the title of Labour Hero, the highest honour of the DPRK citizens, including Ri Hui Suk, manageress of the Sonhung Foodstuff Factory, who has contributed to overfulfilling the national economic plans of the factory for decades and improving the quality of its products, and Choe Chun Sil, workteam leader of the Ryongnim Farm in Mundok County, who has reaped bumper crops every year.

The number of women who obtained doctorate has also increased.

Among them is Kang Pun I, a researcher of the History Faculty of Kim Il Sung University who received two doctorates. Last year alone, doctorates went to dozens of women.

At the Fifth National Conference of Mothers held in 2023, the first Communist Mother Honour Prize was awarded to 20 women who had brought up their children to be reliable pillars of the country. Since then, dozens of women have been awarded the prize every year.

True to the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea which makes selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people, many other women find work to do for the good of the country on their own and devote their conscience to that. Such are the Korean women’s noble outlook on life and their excellent virtue.
