Efforts to conserve biodiversity
March 10, 2026The Kazakh government recently announced a plan for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
The plan reflects the top priority tasks for protecting nature, restoring ecosystem and sustainably managing resources.
Accordingly, measures are to be taken to increase the area of nature reserves, improve the conservation of forests and promote the protection of wildlife.
The country is reportedly to increase the area of reserves by over 2.2 million hectares and that of forests by over 0.8 million hectares by 2035.
