Russia warns Finland against lifting of ban on nuke deployment
March 12, 2026Russian presidential press secretary Dmitri Peskov at a press conference on March 6 gave Finland a warning as to its announcement that the country will lift the ban on the deployment of nuclear weapons.
Noting that the deployment of nuclear weapons in the Finnish territory is an act of posing a threat to Russia and therefore a countermeasure will surely ensue, he stated that if Finland threatens Russia, the latter will take relevant measures.
He said that Finland only revealed more clearly its weakness through the announcement that it will lift the ban on the deployment of NATO’s nuclear weapons in its territory, emphasizing that such measure will lead to escalating tension on the European continent.
