Enlarged plenary meeting of UAWK Central Committee held

The 13th enlarged plenary meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) was held on March 13.

Present there were members and alternate members of the UAWK Central Committee. Officials of the UAWK from Pyongyang and the provinces were present as observers.

The meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the important tasks set forth by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the First Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK and the issue of convening the Tenth Congress of the UAWK.

Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the UAWK, made a report.

The reporter said that the line of struggle and practical programme set forth by Kim Jong Un at the Ninth WPK Congress and the First Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK are immortal guidelines and banner clearly indicating the orientation and ways for developing the WPK and making a new qualitative leap forward in Korean-style socialist construction.

The report analyzed and reviewed the successes achieved and shortcomings and lessons revealed and drawn in last year's struggle for implementing the Party's decisions and set forth detailed tasks and ways for the UAWK organizations to carry out the tasks for the first year of the new five-year plan.

Saying that the successful implementation of the Party's decisions entirely depends on the officials, the reporter called upon all the officials of the UAWK to fulfil their responsibility and role in motivating the agricultural workers to the implementation of the socialist rural construction programme by fully displaying the enterprising work attitude and the revolutionary way of work.

Then followed speeches.

The meeting adopted relevant decisions on the basis of the study of their drafts.
