The South African Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation called the US ambassador to the country on March 11 to protest against his provocative remarks.

Earlier on March 10, the US ambassador said that South Africa discriminates against white people, while finding fault with its status as a BRICS member and its bringing of the criminal case of Israel to the International Court of Justice. The ministry denounced it as an act of escalating tension disregarding diplomatic practice.

The ministry demanded the US ambassador respect the sovereignty of the country and observe diplomatic customs and manners.
