Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, received a congratulatory message from Luong Cuong, president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on March 23.

The message said:

I, on behalf of the state and people of Vietnam, extend the best congratulations to you as regards your re-assumption of office as the president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea at the First Session of the 15th Supreme People’s Assembly.

The Vietnamese people are rejoiced over the important successes achieved by the fraternal Korean people over the past years and are convinced that under your leadership, the state and people of the DPRK will continue to implement the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the Party and achieve lots of new successes in the cause of building a powerful nation by displaying the spirit of unity and self-reliance and self-development, thus contributing to promoting the socio-economic development, improving the people’s standard of living and augmenting the national potentials.

Highly appreciating that the traditional relations of friendship between Vietnam and the DPRK underwent excellent development over the past years, I hope that we will together cultivate and promote the bilateral relations so that they can further develop in depth, substantially and effectively day by day in the interests of the peoples of the two countries and for the regional and global peace, stability and development.

I wish you good health and happiness and many successes in your noble duty.

I hope the fraternal DPRK will thrive and the Korean people will get more peaceful and happier with each passing day.
