Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, oversaw a test of assessing the tank performance organized by the Armoured Weapons Institute of the Academy of Defence Sciences.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction over the relevant test, saying that it served as an occasion to show well through practical action, not by words how excellent the DPRK’s new-type main battle tank is and how dependable combat means it is.

Today's test, he said, proved that the functionality of our new-type MBT's interceptor system is fully equipped with a capability for thoroughly destroying almost all existing anti-tank means.

It has been confirmed again there is little doubt about our already declared view that no tank in the world would be comparable to this tank, he said, commenting on the new-type MBT which demonstrated remarkable combat performance.

The tests, conducted in various aspects on the day to check the active self-defensive system of the new-type MBT, examined in detail the combat effectiveness of the self-defensive system against anti-tank means attacking from different directions and confirmed the perfect defensive function with 100 percent probability.
