Education sector strives to enhance educational level of regions

The primary and secondary education sector set the standards which schools in rural and mountainous areas should reach and is working to create and generalize models in provinces, cities and counties.
The Central Teachers Training Centre and different educational units in Pyongyang gave educational assistance to schools in rural and mountainous areas on a regular basis. Instructors at provincial teachers training centres and city and county teachers in-service training schools and excellent teachers at urban schools went to schools in rural and mountainous areas to offer training courses and demonstration lessons, create and apply new teaching methods, inspect classes at work and attend panel discussions, thereby contributing to improving the qualifications of teachers and academic performance of students.
As a result, in recent years, the qualifications of rural school teachers have improved remarkably and the educational level of thousands of rural schools across the country rose to that of urban schools.
Thanks to active assistance and exchange among universities, the recent years witnessed the production of many holders of academic degrees and titles from among the lecturers and researchers of universities and colleges in the teacher training field and a large number of honour students from such educational institutions.
