These days, a constant stream of visitors is flowing to the Central Botanical Garden.

Many of them are said to go there to purchase dried flower products of the botanical garden.

According to them, the dried flower workshop of the botanical garden produces various ornaments with dried flowers which give a feeling similar to natural flowers. There are those that can be put on tables and display cabinet units and hanged on the walls with or without frames.

A woman living in Phyongchon District, Pyongyang, said that dried flowers are beneficial as they do not require frequent replacement and are not affected by season and they have a variety of uses. She added that the dried flowers of the workshop of the botanical garden preserve intact the natural shapes and colours of flowers and are of high artistic value as ornaments.

Kong Yong Sim, a technician of the workshop, said that the special attachment of the producers to dried flowers is the source of inspiration and unabated energy.

This attachment is not confined to love for flowers.

Ten-odd years ago, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un saw their products and was satisfied to take measures for the development of dried flower-making technology so that they could make more wonderful products to better serve the people.

Hyon Sun Sil, a worker of the workshop, said: “Making dried flowers is not a matter of national significance. However, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un regards everything of service to the people as an important affair. His noble view on the people instilled into us a new concept of dried flower products and love for them.”

As a result, dried flowers became the products that are popular irrespective of season at the Central Botanical Garden where lots of plants boast of fragrance and freshness.
