Young people volunteer for major units of socialist construction
April 1, 2026Since the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, a large number of young men and women across the DPRK have volunteered to work at major worksites of socialist construction.
True to the intention of the Party attaching importance to the coal industry, a large number of young people in South Phyongan Province launched into outposts of the self-supporting economy.
Those in North Hwanghae, North Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces volunteered for construction brigades.
Graduates of Kanggye University of Education left their hometowns to work in the revolutionary battle sites in the Mt Paektu area.
And university graduates of Kangwon and North Hamgyong provinces volunteered to work at branch schools in remote mountain villages and rural schools.
Youth league members in Ryanggang Province put their names on the list of volunteers.
Amid the enthusiasm for volunteering being displayed by young people across the country, youths of the Ministry of Railways offered to work at the difficult and labour-consuming workplaces in the rail transport sector.
