Meetings for studying Juche-oriented idea of art and literature held
April 13, 2026There took place meetings for the study of the Juche-oriented idea of art and literature in the fields of literature, stage art, cinematic art and fine art from April 7 to 10, which are aimed at launching an intensive campaign for creating masterpieces this year.
Attending them were Jang Ryong Sik, Choe Hak Gun and Ri Yong Nam, deputy department directors of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and officials, creators, artistes, teachers and researchers of the central and local literature, stage art, cinematic art, fine art, art education and work deliberation institutions, including the Ministry of Culture, the National Administration of Motion Picture Industry, the Central Committee of the Writers Union of Korea, the Mansudae Art Studio and the Central Committee of the General Federation of the Unions of Art and Literature of Korea.

The reporters said that masterpieces reflecting the true picture of the DPRK and the indomitable mettle of its people are being produced under the guidance of the Party Central Committee to give encouragement to the ranks of the all-people general advance.
The reports referred to the tasks and ways for bringing about a more innovative improvement in the creation of masterpieces and artistic activities to enhance the people's consciousness of revolution, creation and struggle and inspire the broad masses to implementation of the Party's policies.
Speakers expressed their resolve to wage an intensive campaign for creating masterpieces vividly reflecting the present reality where new civilization and life of socialism are being brought into full bloom under the guidance of the Party.
The meetings analyzed and reviewed the shortcomings and a series of deviations revealed in the creative work in the fields of literature, stage art, cinematic art and fine art, and announced the goal of creation and the outline of competition in 2026.
During the meetings, there were workshops of different sectors aimed at improving the politico-theoretical level and practical qualifications of the officials, creators and artistes in the field of art and literature.
