All the people and service personnel in the DPRK celebrated with splendour the 114th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

An endless stream of visitors with deep yearning flowed into the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state.

Officials, working people, service personnel, young people and schoolchildren laid flower baskets, bouquets and flowers at the statues of the great leaders and mosaics depicting the images of the peerlessly great men on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country and paid tribute to them.

On the occasion of the April spring holiday, working people visited President Kim Il Sung's birthplace at Mangyongdae to deeply grasp the immortal exploits of the peerlessly great man, who regarded “The people are god” as his motto and made a sacred history of the people-first principle.

The national flags and visual aids were displayed at major places in the capital city and provincial, city and county seats and at institutions, industrial establishments and farms across the country, adding to the festive mood.

Pupils across the country joined the Korean Children's Union on the significant Day of the Sun.

Colourful performances were given at theatres and other places in the capital city and the provinces.

There was a demonstration of riders of the riding club in Kanggye City.

The venues of dance parties in South Phyongan, North Hwanghae and Ryanggang provinces, Rason Municipality and other parts of the country also brimmed with the people’s joy and excitement of celebrating the Day of the Sun.

The Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum and other cultural recreation grounds were full of the people's joy and happiness and public catering establishments across the country were crowded with visitors.
