Russian presidential aide criticizes Japan for militarization moves
April 20, 2026Russian Presidential Aide Nikolai Patrushev had an interview with Rossiskaya Gazeta on April 13 to censure Japan for its militarization schemes.
Today, the reinforcement of armed forces by the Japanese authorities is judged as nothing more than part of a new militaristic policy threatening the security in the Asia-Pacific region, he asserted.
Japan is evolving again into an aggressive military political power, and its Maritime "Self-Defense Force" is no longer an armed force for self-defense, he disclosed.
Russia estimates that Japan will keep increasing its military capabilities while focusing on the joint offensive action together with NATO, as well as an independent offensive action, he stressed.
He denounced the US administration for inciting Japan in every way to develop ground and naval forces while encouraging it to expand the capacities of its munitions industry including the capacity to produce cruise and ballistic missiles.
