Memorial concert given for martyrs at overseas military operations
April 27, 2026A memorial concert "Stars of the Motherland" for the war martyrs, fine sons of the glorious Democratic People's Republic of Korea, was held outside the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations, built as a monumental edifice in the great era, on the evening of April 26.
The venue of the concert, where a group sculpture of heroic Korean People's Army soldiers involved in the special military operations is standing imposingly portraying the political and ideological mightiness peculiar to the army, was wrapped in an atmosphere of mourning the heroic soldiers cherished deep in the minds of the country and the people as eternal stars.

Present there were Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the State Duma, Andrei Beloussov, minister of Defence, and other members of the official delegation of the Russian Federation and staff members of the Russian embassy in Pyongyang.
Put on the stage of the concert, which began with orchestral music "Morning Star" and narrative poem "Immortality", were hymns depicting deep respect for and recollection of the combatants in the overseas military operations and famous songs on patriotism.

Watching the numbers representing the days and months when life or death was decided in a moment and which were filled with missions and decisive battles, blood and tears, and indignation and revenge, and pathetic scenes of death-defying hand-to-hand fights and heroic suicide explosions the young soldiers chose without hesitation, the audience keenly felt with painful resentment and grim resolution what a dear price the soldiers had paid for the dignity and immortal fame of the strong.
The audience were deeply moved by the emotional scenes showing the lights from the window of the Party Central Committee that never went off, wishing for the safety of the soldiers in the alien battlefield, and the world of parental love and agony of the great father who repressed hard the great pain of loss upon receiving every sad news and wrapped the fallen soldiers in the sacred national flag to glorify their precious lives shining like stars though they fell down, to epically prove why the Koreans and the Korean People's Army are strong and ever-victorious.
The audience enthusiastically sang with the performers "Eternal Respect," "Only Victory" and other famous songs that arouse the strong will to cherish the immutable truth of patriotic loyalty and immortality, taught by the shining names, images and heroic lives that will never be covered with moss even though time passes, and build without fail a thriving country, the world's most powerful country desired by the martyrs.

The memorial night was heated by the bitter sorrow and heartache being jointly overcome on the road for justice and peace and the militant friendship and unique feelings that have laid foundations for the eternal development of the DPRK-Russia friendship.
The concert ended with the playing of national anthems of the DPRK and the Russian Federation.
Flights of the KPA Air Force flew over Saeppyol Street, setting off fireworks out of respect for the representatives of the precious honour of the country.
The memorial concert wishing that the passionate pulse and spirit of the great heroic soldiers, who defended the dignity and honour of the motherland at the cost of their lives, embodying the absolute strength of Korea and symbolizing its people's mightiness and justice, would be eternal as the breath of the country and its army and people, left a lingering effect on the audience.
