Russian state commendations conferred on officers and soldiers of overseas operations unit of KPA

According to a presidential decree of the Russian Federation, Order of Bravery was conferred on the officers and combatants of the overseas operations unit of the Korean People’s Army who made distinguished contributions to liberating the territory of the Russian Federation from the military occupation by the Ukrainian neo-Nazi forces.

An award ceremony took place in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK, on April 26.

Present there were Andrei Beloussov, minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, and his party on a visit to the DPRK to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations, and Alexei Bartusov, military attaché of the Russian embassy in Pyongyang.

No Kwang Chol, minister of National Defence of the DPRK, Kim Jong Gyu, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, and officials of the Ministry of National Defence attended the ceremony together with participants in the overseas military operations.

Andrei Beloussov conferred the Order of Bravery on the officers and combatants of the overseas operations unit and made a speech.

Saying that he commended the Korean service personnel who are boundlessly faithful to their country and made a great contribution to the liberation of Kursk Region upon authorization of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, he expressed reverence for the true heroes of the present times, the pride of the DPRK armed forces.

He said that the Korean soldiers are always brave, courageous and determined to become invincible walls thwarting any threat, adding that all of them are carrying forward the glorious tradition and valour of their legendary ancestors.

He said that the state commendation was not merely a commendation to their speciality as soldiers but a reward for their noble spirit of carrying out the tasks with devotion and saving their comrades-in-arms while overcoming arduous battles, sleepless nights and heavy mental and physical oppression.

Saying that the bravery and determination of the service personnel of the KPA greatly contributed to achieving common successes, he expressed deep thanks in the name of all the Russian people.

Andrei Beloussov handed over to No Kwang Chol the state commendations of the Russian Federation for the martyrs who performed heroic feats in the battles for liberating Kursk Region and the presidential decree.

No Kwang Chol expressed thanks to the Russian government for highly appreciating the combat feats of the participants in the overseas military operations of the Korean People’s Army.
