An evening gala and torchlight procession of youth and students “Always Following the Party Central Committee” took place at Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang on the evening of April 30.

Kim Jae Ryong and Ri Il Hwan, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, Ju Chang Il, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Song Gi, member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People’s Army, officials of the central committee of the youth league and exemplary officials and members of the youth league were on the platform.

The participants in the 11th Congress of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, youth and students in Pyongyang, the congratulatory group of the Korean Youth League in Japan, the congratulatory group of the Association of Korean Young Nationals in China and the home-visiting group of graduating-class students of Korea University of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan took the reserved seats for invited guests and other seats.

The song “O Party, It’s Thanks to Your Care” resounded forth and fireworks were splendidly displayed in the nocturnal sky over the square. A sea of cheerful dances unfolded to significantly commemorate the grand meeting of young people.

The atmosphere was further revved up with fireworks set off in succession amid various changes of formations, colourful folk dances and gymnastic dances.

As the all-people hymn “Dear Father” resounded, the square was filled with boundless reverence for the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who brings up the young people to be heroes of the times with warm love and affection, while implementing the great programme of attaching importance to the youth on this land.

All the participants danced, enthusiastically singing the hymn, full of great honour and happiness of glorifying their youth under the care of the great father.

The song “We Are Koreans” resounded across the square and fireworks were displayed to beautifully decorate the end of the evening gala.

Then the torchlight procession started.

Amid the solemn melody of the revolutionary hymn “Ode to General Kim Jong Un”, the columns of torchlights depicting the letters “Young Vanguard” entered the square followed by those depicting the august name of the respected fatherly Marshal.

The column showing letters “First Death-defying Corps” marched past the square where the shape of a torchlight was formed to represent the vigorous spirit of the youth of the great Kim Jong Un’s era who would advance in the vanguard of the sacred struggle for the prosperity and development of the dignified DPRK, holding high loyalty and patriotism to the Party and the revolution as a token of their faith and banner of creation and feats.

The emblem of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the letters “Youth League” and “Always Following the Party Central Committee” depicted in the square fully showed the iron faith and will of the young vanguard to advance along the road of the cause of Juche to the last, holding higher the torch of revolution under the guidance of the great WPK which guarantees the destiny and future of all the young people across the country.

Fireworks shone in beautiful lights in the sky over the square which echoed with the shouts of slogans reflecting the resolve of all the participants to become the young vanguard boundlessly faithful to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un.
