Korean people celebrate May Day
May 3, 2026All the people across the DPRK significantly celebrated May Day.
Streets, villages and industrial establishments and farms full of enthusiasm for increased production in Pyongyang, provinces, cities and counties overflowed with joy and optimism of the patriotic working people, including workers, farmers and intellectuals, who had a good time playing colourful sports and amusement games.

Officials, working people, service personnel, youth and students visited the statues of the President and the Chairman on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang and other places and mosaics depicting the peerlessly great men to lay flower baskets, bouquets and flowers before paying tribute to them.
At the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations, working people from all walks of life looked round photos and relics of the martyrs and the materials on their feats on display.
Officials of Party and government organs throughout the country significantly celebrated May Day together with the working people.
They congratulated the workers on achieving innovative successes day by day by unsparingly devoting themselves to successfully carrying out the tasks for the first year in implementing the new five-year plan set forth by the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Colourful performances were given at theatres and outdoor stages in the capital city and other parts of the country, revving up the atmosphere of the holiday.
That day, public catering facilities in the capital and the provinces provided a variety of holiday services and recreation grounds, including the Central Zoo and the Natural History Museum, were crowded with people spending a pleasant time.
