Living monument—Twin zelkova trees in Sinwon
May 5, 2026There are two zelkova trees by an uphill pass in Sinwon County, South Hwanghae Province.
They are called “twin zelkova trees” as they are of the same age and grow side by side.
The one on the right is 23 metres tall and 18 metres wide at the crown, while the one on the left is 21 metres tall and about 15 metres wide at the crown.
The old trees were registered as a living monument, since they are unique in shape and grow side by side like twins.
