May 5, 2026

The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on April 27 to criticize the anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union.

The EU has decided to impose anti-Russian sanctions, the 20th of their kind. The statement branded the decision as a blatant violation of international law.

The EU tries to keep pressurizing Russia in such a way, but its sanctions will have no influence on the external policy of Russia, the statement said.

Russia will defend its national interests, guarantee its citizens’ rights and freedom and take a positive part in the establishment of a just multipolar world, it stressed.
