Working people hold demos across US
May 8, 2026On the occasion of May Day, tens of thousands of people turned out in streets to hold demonstrations and rallies to oppose war and defend the rights of workers and immigrants across the US.
Protest actions were staged in about 30 cities, including Washington DC, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Boston.
Participants in the demonstrations and rallies shouted slogans against the war moves and immigrant policy of the authorities, carrying placards reading “Stop war”, “Immigrant customs office, go out of our city” and “If workers unite, they never lose”.
They condemned the authorities for helping Israel destroy the Gaza Strip, West Bank and Lebanon, and denounced that the US politicians on the payroll of billionaires are not working for the interests of workers.
The US is now dashing towards a great disaster and squandering a tremendous sum of money on useless and stupid wars, they stressed.
