Pang Un Chol wins three gold medals in 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships
May 14, 2026DPRK weightlifter Pang Un Chol won the 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships which are being held in India.
The championships brought together more than 170 men and women players from over 20 countries and regions including the DPRK, China, Uzbekistan and Iran.
In the men's 60kg category on May 11, Pang lifted 130kg in snatch, 174kg in clean and jerk (new world record, new Asian record) and 304kg in total to win first place in snatch, clean and jerk and total respectively and bagged three gold medals.
