Belarus President Alexandr Lukashenko congratulated the compatriots on the day of national flag, national emblem and national song of the republic on May 10. 

The three elements of the national symbol chosen by the people reflect the experience and tradition of the state, its complicated historical course and the beauty of the country and its unique features, he said.

He noted that respecting the dignity of the national flag, emblem and song would help unite the people and promote love for and pride in the wealth of the country.

Earlier on May 9, the Belarus President laid a wreath before the monument to victory on the occasion of war victory day.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremony held at the victory square in the capital were representatives of state organs, service personnel and crowds of people from all walks of life.
