Kim Il Gyong wins three gold medals at Asian championships
May 16, 2026DPRK weightlifter Kim Il Gyong snatched three gold medals in the women’s 58kg category of the 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships.
In the event held on May 13, she lifted 105kg in snatch (new Asian record), 125kg in jerk and 230kg in total, thus taking first place in snatch, jerk and total.
Meanwhile, Pak Myong Jin bagged silver medals in jerk and total and a bronze in snatch of the men’s 65kg category.
