Lukashenko clarifies stand to defend peace
May 18, 2026Belarus President Alexandr Lukashenko clarified his stand to defend peace in a speech to mark V-Day on May 9.
May 9 1945 remains a sacred day for Belarus people and it is a duty of Belarus to defend global peace, he said.
He warned of the dangers that the aggressive forces are now rising again and historical facts being forgotten, calling on all to put dialogue above confrontation and development above destruction and defend the gains of victory bequeathed by the forerunners for the future.
