DPRK players returned home on May 19 after winning the 2026 AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup held in China.

With the victory in the event, the DPRK team created an eye-opening sports legend of winning the AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup five times and qualified for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup finals.

The players were greeted at Pyongyang International Airport by senior Party and government officials, officials in the field of sports and relevant sectors, sportspersons and families.

Sportspersons put garlands around the necks of the players and coaches and presented bouquets to them, congratulating them on their success.

When the bus carrying the women footballers passed Jonwi, Podunamu, Kaeson, Changjon and other streets of Pyongyang, working people and students warmly waved their hands to them who brought honour to the country.

The women footballers and coaches extended warm greetings to the citizens.
