Local enterprises active in developing new products
May 24, 2026Regional-industry factories in different parts of the DPRK are concentrating their efforts on the development of new products.
The Songchon County Foodstuff Factory works to develop more varieties of foods by processing Songchon chestnut, a famous speciality of the area, and produce a larger quantity of them. It frequently organizes a prize contest for the development of new products and positively introduces feasible ideas and proposals into production.
The Kusong City Daily Necessities Factory organized a team for developing new products with competent technicians. They actively introduce sci-tech achievements to increase the variety of new products favoured by people. The Kusong City Foodstuff Factory steadily increases the variety of products using various wild fruits. Its new products include syrups made of the fruits of Schizandra chinensis and Crataegus pinnatifida, Actinidia arguta fruit jam and sour wild grape drink. New knitwear products from the Kusong City Garment Factory are favoured by customers for their good styles and high quality.
The Yonthan County Foodstuff Factory produces sour drink and jam with the fruit of black chokeberry, a local speciality, by giving full play to the creativity of technicians and consolidating the material and technical foundations of its raw materials base.
The regional-industry factories in Unpha County have conducted a vigorous mass technical innovation drive with main emphasis put on lowering costs and expanding varieties, and increased the variety of foodstuffs, furniture pieces and garments through collective discussions and painstaking research.
Jangphung County produces various health foods using ginger and fruits of toothache tree widely cultivated in the area.
Amid a brisk campaign to develop new products, many foodstuffs from city and county foodstuff factories, especially those in Jaeryong, Sinyang and Kimhwa counties, were highly appreciated at the national foodstuff exhibition-2026 held last April.
