  A rally was held in Tokyo, Japan, on May 19 to protest against the revision of the constitution being pushed by the authorities.

Some ten thousand people gathered in front of the parliament building and decried the reckless moves of the Takaichi government trying to amend the “pacifist constitution” against the will of Japanese citizens and bring the ravages of war, holding placards saying “Stop the constitutional revision and military buildup” and “Do not destroy article 9 of the constitution”.

Saying the tragedy of war should not be repeated, they demanded the resignation of the Takaichi government.
