Vivian Balakrishnan, foreign minister of the Republic of Singapore, and his party left Pyongyang on May 27 after visiting the Democratic People's Republic of Korea at the invitation of the DPRK Foreign Ministry.

They were seen off at Pyongyang International Airport by Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK Pak Sang Gil and DPRK Ambassador to Singapore Ri Kil Song.
