Unity is the source of strength, and every country and nation seeks it.

The DPRK which already achieved single-minded unity makes steady development on the strength of it.

Single-minded unity is the state of people being joined together in one mind and for the common purpose.

The single-minded unity of the DPRK is the unity in which the masses of the people are united with inseverable ties centring on the leader.

The past 10-odd years in the course of development of the country were a period of unprecedented ordeals beset with tough challenges. But political stability was fully ensured in the country and the advantages of socialism were further displayed.

The Workers’ Party of Korea adopted one policy after another to improve the people’s living standards and make them enjoy a civilized and affluent material and cultural life despite difficulties and implemented them persistently. The people, taking the afflictions of the country as their pain, supported every plan of the Party and did their best to carry them out.

When the hostile forces went to extremes in their moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK, it was the people’s absolute trust that gave the Party infinite strength.

The genuine feature of the DPRK’s single-minded unity is that it gets firmer, not weaker, in the face of manifold difficulties and obstacles. 

Single-minded unity is the inexhaustible motive power for comprehensive rejuvenation and prosperity of the country.

The DPRK is now in a fresh golden age of development and a period of comprehensive development.

It was just thanks to the strength of single-minded unity that the country could open up the period of comprehensive development in the difficult situation in which defending itself by overcoming all difficulties was a round of the revolution and pioneering. 

As all the people pool their ideas and strength in their efforts to implement the policies of the state with absolute trust in it, they could herald a new era when all domains of politics, military, economy and culture develop at the same time and when the whole country, not only the capital city but also the regions, undergo a transformation all together through the regional development revolution, rural revolution and public health revolution.

Today the Korean people, invariably holding aloft the single-minded unity as the banner of struggle and advance, are further stepping up socialist construction which entered a new stage of overall development with the Ninth Congress of the WPK as a starting point.
