An enlarged meeting of the Second Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) was held at the Central Hall of Workers in Pyongyang on June 3.

Members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the GFTUK attended the meeting. Present there as observers were officials of the trade union organizations in Pyongyang and local areas.

The enlarged meeting discussed the issue of thoroughly implementing the tasks set forth in the congratulatory letter sent by the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to the participants in the Ninth Congress of the GFTUK and the working class and trade union members across the country.

The congratulatory letter was read out at the meeting.

Then resolution-making speeches were made.

The meeting studied and discussed the tasks and ways for steadily keeping up the heightened revolutionary enthusiasm of the members of the trade union who received the congratulatory letter of the WPK Central Committee and encouraging them to turn out for the struggle to implement the Party's decisions.

The meeting stressed the need to establish strong discipline in the trade union organizations, ensure that the requirements of the union rules are strictly met in all processes and on all occasions of organizational life, intensify the management of the ranks of the union and effectively organize and implement the work of improving the political and practical qualifications of the trade union officials.

The meeting adopted a relevant decision on the basis of the study and deliberation of the draft decision.
