Russia criticizes European countries’ misbehaviour

June 6, 2026

Dmitri Peskov, the Russian president’s press secretary, rejected the European Union’s argument at a press conference on May 31.

As regards the fact that the chairman of the EU Commission claimed that the incident of a drone falling in Romania is related to Russia and the country crossed the “red line”, he branded it as sophism.

Rather, the EU crossed all lines it can do, he said, adding that European countries, which have done everything possible to keep the war going in Ukraine, have no right to criticize other countries for crossing the red line.

Earlier on May 30, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that though they have called for starting peace talks as soon as possible in the recent one and a half years alone, the member nations of NATO have advanced the contrary argument that they should win the war by delivering armed equipment to Ukraine while pressurizing Russia. The inconsistent stand of the Europeans is raising doubt about their sincerity, he added.
