DPRK players return home after taking part in New Taipei City Athletics Open 2026

DPRK players returned home on June 9 after taking part in the New Taipei City Athletics Open 2026.

The contest brought together at least 600 male and female players from 20-odd countries and regions including the DPRK, Taipei of China and Canada.

Pak Sol Gyong set a new record of the athletic contest and won a gold medal in the women's 5 000m race and Kang Ryon Hui came first in the women's 3 000m hurdles.

Meanwhile, Kim Hye Song won a bronze medal in the women's 5 000m race.

At Pyongyang International Airport, officials in the sports sector and sportspersons greeted the players who demonstrated the honour of the country.
