Attention paid to training skilled construction workers
June 12, 2026Efforts are being made across the country to build up the ranks of skilled construction workers in order to push ahead with rural construction.
Rangnang District in Pyongyang Municipality runs a skilled construction workers school in a methodological way.
It has added to the existing teaching contents and methods such relevant information as construction methods of different modern structures and advanced sci-tech successes in the construction sector in order to provide students with conditions and environment favourable for acquiring them.
It intensifies extracurricular practical training by involving students in the construction of dwelling houses to give them opportunities for applying what they learned to practice.
In particular, it subdivided departments and training courses on the principle of specialization by jobs to enhance the level of education.
At present, the ranks of skilled construction workers in the district have grown 4.7 times as much as those at the initial days of its construction unit, while the number of technical innovation plans presented keeps increasing with the passage of time.
Several construction units in Manpho City of Jagang Province also qualitatively train skilled workers with professional knowledge related to plastering, welding, measuring, etc., while focusing on building operation.
Many other local areas, including Wonsan City of Kangwon Province, Jangjin County of South Hamgyong Province and Hwaphyong and Chosan counties of Jagang Province, are working to rapidly increase the ranks of skilled workers in order to thoroughly ensure the quality of structures.
