China is striving to realize the agricultural and rural modernization.

The State Council of China recently printed and distributed a “programme for accelerating agricultural and rural modernization during the 15th five-year plan”.

The programme clarified in detail the plan, goals, central tasks and policy measures for accelerating the agricultural and rural modernization during the 15th five-year plan, stressing the need to push ahead with the Chinese-style modernization more successfully.

It set the major tasks including those of making significant progress in sustainably consolidating the foundations for food security and building agriculture as a modernized large-scale industry by 2030, making a new breakthrough in the combined development of cities and rural communities and achieving remarkable successes in the high qualitative development of agriculture and rural communities.
