Doctorates of the DPRK were conferred on Chon Mi Hwa and Pak Jun Song, Korean compatriots in China.

They have made contributions to explaining and proving in a profound way the course in which the people-oriented public health system has developed under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un, the ideological and theoretical and legal basis of the public health system and the great change being made in laying the material and technical foundations of public health.

A ceremony of awarding the doctorates was held at the Pyongyang Assembly Hall on June 15.

Present there were Jon Sung Guk, vice-premier of the Cabinet who is the chairman of the State Commission for Conferment of Academic Degrees and Titles of the DPRK, and officials concerned.

After a decision of the State Commission for Conferment of Academic Degrees and Titles of the DPRK was read out, a doctorate of law and a doctorate of economics were conferred on Chon Mi Hwa and Pak Jun Song respectively.
