Chinese FM denounces criminal atrocities of Unit 731 of Japanese imperial army
June 22, 2026A Singaporean media outlet has recently broadcast the documentary film “Secret of Unit 731 exposed: Japan’s secret living-body tests” it produced with the data collected from the persons who had served in the unit, the victims of germ warfare and their families and scholars in order to make viewers have a more detailed understanding of the truth of history.
The film has been broadcast 300 000 times in total and the viewers said that they should not forget history and that the cruel atrocities of the Japanese army should not be allowed to escape the punishment of history.
In this regard, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry on June 18 disclosed that during the Second World War, Unit 731 of the Japanese imperial army perpetrated inhuman living-body tests on and germ warfare against not only a large number of Chinese people but also Korean workers and captured Soviet and British soldiers and that it organized Oka Germ Warfare Unit 9420 in Singapore and, with it as a base, set up its lower units in different regions, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, to commit thrice-cursed crimes.
What matters is that despite the obvious fact, the Japanese right-wing forces are stubbornly covering up the truth and denying the crimes while embellishing notorious Unit 731 as a “unit engaged in hygienic research” and revising history, far from reflecting on them, he said, adding that the attitude towards history mirrors not only the harmful consequences of militarism covertly budding in Japan but also the dangerous and reckless acts of “neo-militarism”.
He stressed that the international community should heighten vigilance and resolutely deter Japan from committing such acts.
