Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned about consequences of the adventurous confrontational policy of NATO and the European Union against his country in an article published on June 19 entitled “Ukraine and Europe, global security”.

He in the article said that the policy of confrontation pursued by Europe against Russia poses a serious threat to global security, adding that it is because direct conflict between NATO and Russia may lead to catastrophic consequences by creating a situation accompanied by nuclear strike. 

Then he recalled that the chief of the general staff of the Belgian armed forces brazenly said last April that Ukraine is gaining time for the member nations of the EU by shedding blood.
