The commander of the radiation, chemistry and biological defense corps of the Russian armed forces exposed and denounced the moves of the US and Ukraine to develop biological weapons at a news conference on June 19.

Informing the participants of an analysis of the documents issued by the US national intelligence agency, he said that the Ukrainian biological laboratories have been used for the research into such serious infectious diseases as pest, anthracnose, tularemia and Ebola virus infection.

The fact that these labs have been funded by the US and the positions and research orientations of the labs which the Russian defense and foreign ministries exposed have been confirmed by the data from the US national intelligence agency, he stressed.

Saying that the US Defense Department has involved large-scale scientific organizations and pharmaceutical companies in the military biological research, he asserted that the documents published by the head of the US national intelligence agency constitute evidence proving that Ukraine violated the convention banning biological and poisonous weapons.
