The Central Cadres Training School of the Workers’ Party of Korea is a reliable base for training cadres and a pedigree institution for training Party cadres.

Over the past 80 years, graduates of the school have become the pillars of the Party generation after generation and played a pivotal role in achieving the historic development.

President Kim Il Sung advanced the idea and policy of training Party officials at the time when he achieved the historic cause of founding the Party after Korea’s liberation (August 1945) and pushed ahead with the work for implementing them.

As a result, a permanent Party school was established on June 1 1946 to train Party cadres, and in a little over a year after the founding of the Party, bases for training Party cadres with a well-regulated system and structure capable of training the Party’s hard core by national efforts were established from the capital down to local areas. 

Today when the people’s centuries-old desires and ideals are being realized in an all-round way, the importance of training Party cadres is becoming more and more pronounced.

In order to develop the Central Cadres Training School of the WPK, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un saw that it was built into an excellent political school, impeccable even in the distant future.

He chose the site of the school near the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il are preserved in their lifetime appearance, and the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong, which embodies the WPK’s will to carry forward and develop the traditions of the Korean revolution down through generations. And he gave meticulous guidance so that everything from architectural design and formation to educational facilities and equipment could be policy-based and exemplary. 

Saying it is a matter related to the destiny of the Party to train staunch revolutionaries who are fully armed with the red flag idea at the Central Cadres Training School, he saw to it that the Party flag and emblem and the tower symbolic of the WPK were set up there and red flags were placed in all parts of the school including the lecture rooms.

As a result, the opening ceremony of the Central Cadres Training School was held on June 1 2024, marking its 78th founding anniversary.

In his important speech made at the school on the occasion of its 80th founding anniversary, the respected General Secretary said that the Central Cadres Training School, shouldering the responsible mission of guaranteeing the eternal future of the Party and the revolution, has made a tangible contribution to training Party cadres equipped with faithfulness and high practical qualifications and to enriching the treasure house of the theory of building a revolutionary party, adding that such a firm stronghold enabled the WPK to chronicle its sacred chapters without any mistakes or twists even in the tempest of history and maintain its dignity still today with outstanding leadership abilities.

He also said if the Party is to be strong and the country is to develop, the “pedigree” institution for training hard-core cadres of the Party should be firm, and talents of the talents of the country must be produced by the school.

The Central Cadres Training School of the WPK is now training personifiers of the red flag spirit who are firmly armed with the revolutionary ideas of the respected General Secretary, well versed in the five-point Party-building theory in the new era and in the practical work of the Party and share the destiny with the red flag to the last, and standard-bearers of the Juche revolution who firmly guarantee the glory and future of the Party.
