The monkey house is one of the places crowded with lots of visitors to the Central Zoo.

It includes a main building and three other buildings like the houses of baboons and lemurs.

The two-storey main building has an indoor animal hall and outdoor play yard on each floor.

Visitors are more interested in the intelligence of monkeys than the funny looks and other characteristics of different kinds of monkeys.

Visitors burst out laughing at the sights of monkeys stretching out their hands for food, catching snacks nimbly, running away from others to keep the food and eating it while looking about on alert lest others should follow.

The animals are especially liked by children as they are cute.

According to Kang Jong Chol, technician of the monkey house, rhesus macaque and ape are particularly clever among more than 10 kinds of monkeys and tamers like to train them to do stunts. Especially, cute tricks of rhesus macaque elicit laughter from the visitors.
