Russian president decries West’s war preparations
June 28, 2026Russian President Vladimir Putin in a speech before graduates of military academies on June 23 denounced the West for making preparations for a war.
He said that Western countries were just keen on supporting the Ukrainian authorities who illegally seized power through a coup, but now they are expanding their military budgets, openly clamouring for war preparations against Russia.
NATO and the European Union are making false assertions about so-called “threat from Russia” in a bid to expand their military budgets, he noted.
Russia has consistently advocated the equal and inseparable security of all countries and is ready to respond promptly and appropriately to any threats at home and abroad, he said.
