Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned about the development of the country’s aviation industry in a conference on June 24.

Appreciating the fact that Russia’s air equipment surpasses Western ones in several aspects, he said that domestic aircraft should not merely compete with foreign planes but have an edge over them in terms of quality, reliability and technical specifications.

Saying that the aviation industry sector should propel everything faster and on a larger scale, he stressed that the task before the state, airline companies and aviation industry is to provide conditions for increasing the volume of passenger transport and improving the safety and convenience of flight.
